Even a small step can make a big difference

A man was walking on the beach and in the distance, he saw a boy throwing something into the sea. The man walked up to the shore. He saw that there were millions of starfishes on the beach who had been washed up by a storm the night before. He got closer to the boy, and asked, “Boy, what are you doing? Why are you throwing the starfishes back in the ocean?”

The boy looked at the man and said, “They got washed up, and if I don’t pick them up and throw them back in, they’re all going to die.” The man looked at the boy and said, “You’re crazy, there’s no way you’re going to be able to do this before the tide goes back, so there’s no way you can save them all. Most of them are going to die. What difference are you going to make?” But the boy picked up one more starfish. He threw it back into the sea, and said, “Well, at least I made a difference to that one.”

Wisdom:

We all have an opportunity to make a difference. To make a difference, you don’t need to take a big step. Small steps taken continuously can also make a big difference. Next time when you are stuck in life just take small steps because something is always better than nothing.
